Benefits of using Pixel

Facebook Pixel helps track the actions people take in your funnel. In essence, it helps to better understand the impact of ads by knowing what people do after they see them, then you can reach people who are more likely to take meaningful actions, such as purchasing your products or services. 

Setting up a pixel in bucket.io can help to create audiences using the information people have provided even if they did not finish the funnel, and then this information could be used at a later time to retarget them.

Facebook Pixel works in six steps

In bucket.io, you only add the pixel code and set up some events, tags, and values - but all of the data is sent to Facebook Business Manager, and that is where all the actions happen.

  2. [In Facebook Business Manager] Collect insights - You’ll begin receiving insights about funnel visitors, such as the number of questions they answer, if they dropped off, or if they finished the funnel
  3. [In Facebook Business Manager] Review behaviors - See how people act on your funnel page - whether they just viewed the question, or click through it
  4. [In Facebook Business Manager] Build audiences - Use the data collected from pixel events to create Facebook Custom Audiences, look-a-like audiences, and ads tailored to those specific people
  5. [In Facebook Business Manager] Optimize bidding - Reach people likely to take actions, for instance - buying a product/service to spend your budget efficiently
  6. [In Facebook Business Manager] Analyze events - Assess conversion events to decide the best Facebook ads strategy for your business

Facebook Pixel standard events

Due to the nature of funnels (events are tied to a URL and bucket.io uses the same one across all pages in your funnel), in bucket.io you’re most likely to find yourself using only these two events - View Content and Lead. However, there are 17 standard Facebook Pixel events you can use and some definitions according to Facebook Business Manager help center:

  1. Add payment info: The addition of customer payment information during a checkout process. For example, a person clicks on a button to save their billing information.
  2. Add to cart: The addition of an item to a shopping cart or basket. For example, clicking an Add to Cart button on a website.
  3. Add to wishlist: The addition of items to a wishlist. For example, clicking an Add to Wishlist button on a website.
  4. Complete registration: A submission of information by a customer in exchange for a service provided by your business. For example, signing up for an email subscription.
  5. Contact: For getting in touch with your business. A telephone, SMS, email, chat or other type of contact between a customer and your business.
  6. Customize product: The customization of products through a configuration tool or other application your business owns, like choosing a color, size, measures, etc.
  7. Donate: The donation of funds to your organization or cause.
  8. Find location:  When a person finds one of your locations via web, with an intention to visit. For example, searching for a product and finding it at one of your local stores.
  9. Initiate checkout:  The start of a checkout process. For example, clicking a Checkout button.
  10. Lead: A submission of information by a customer with the understanding that they may be contacted at a later date by your business. For example, submitting a form or signing up for a trial.
  11. Purchase: The completion of a purchase, usually signified by receiving order or purchase confirmation, or a transaction receipt. For example, landing on a Thank You or confirmation page
  12. Schedule: The booking of an appointment to visit one of your locations.
  13. Search: A search performed on your website, app or other property. For example, product or travel searches.
  14. Start trial: The start of a free trial of a product or service you offer. For example, trial subscription.
  15. Submit application: The submission of an application for a product, service or program you offer. For example, a credit card, educational program or job.
  16. Subscribe: The start of a paid subscription for a product or service you offer.
  17. View content: A visit to a web page you care about. For example, a product or landing page. View content tells you if someone visits a web page's URL, but not what they do or see on that web page.

Tags and Values in bucket.io

These can be included when tracking standard and custom events. They allow you to provide additional information about your funnel visitor’s actions. Once tracked, tags and values can be used to further define any custom audiences you create.
