[2.0] Field Logic

[2.0] Field Logic

This feature works for automations, and will allow for you to use people’s answers in the follow up questions. For example:

Q1: If you had to choose just one, which of the following “money worries” would most likely keep you awake at night?

  1. Bills - Having enough $$ to cover the “always piling up” bills
  2. Lack of Options - Anxiety and confusion over “what to do next”
  3. Spiraling - Running dozens of options through your mind over and over
  4. Regret - That big purchase was a mistake!
  5. Disappointment - That investment that’s not doing well

Say the person chooses “D: Regret”, we can use that answer as part of follow up questions and personalize the experience. For example:

Q5: When you have to make an important money decision, would you say that you ruminate a lot before taking the next step?

But if they chose a different answer, say “A: Bill” the question will automatically change to something similar to:

Q5: When you have to make an important money decision, would first think of paying down some debt? Or would you delay the obligation(s)?

The text in bold is the piece that the system is automatically changing depending on how people answered one of the previous questions. And it is up to you to use the exact same text from previous questions or make some elaborated automations.

Let’s review the setup process!

  • Once inside your funnel, go to the Settings page
  • From the left-hand menu click Field Logic
  • You’ll be asked to Add a question using the gray button
  • Once you click the gray button (add a question), you can toggle on all the questions that you will be using, it could be one, two, or more - once completed click confirm
  • Click the plus sign next to the question to enable fields
  • Give a variable name to the question, in the example above we will use “worries” as the variable for Q1, this way whenever we put [worries] across our funnel the system will automatically locate it and replace the variable “worries” with whatever text we set up here. Note this variable name will NOT be seen by survey takers!
  • Type your values next to each choice - this text is what people will see when they are presented with the question

NOTE: please make sure you click Save Changes at the top-right corner

  • Once we’ve set up all variables and values, it is time to go back to the builder and put the variables where we want the system to personalize the question. Make sure you use brackets, for instance [worries].

Here is an example of how it looks for quiz takers:
