bucket - Zapier - FloDesk

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to automatically extract data from bucket.io and send it to a Segment in FloDesk.

IMPORTANT:
Before we begin, make sure you have created a Segment in FloDesk. To do this, go to Audience > Segments and create a segment with a name that you can easily recognize and that relates to your quiz.

Step 1:

We will create a Zap with two steps: one to extract data from bucket.io and another to send it to FloDesk.

First step Zap:

  1. Log into your Zapier Account.
  2. Click on "+create a Zap" to start creating a new Zap

  1. Search for "bucket.io 2.0" in the App Search

  1. This will take you to the set up page
  2. From the "event" field, choose "New Lead" as the trigger for this Zap
  3. Click the "Continue" button

Note: If you have already connected bucket.io to Zapier before, you can skip to step 2

  1. Click on "Sign in to bucket.io 2.0" to add your account. A pop-up will appear, asking for your bucket API key.
  2. To find your bucket API key, go to your bucket.io account and follow these steps:
a. Go to "My account."
b. Click on "Add new integration."
c. Select the Zapier icon.
d. Copy the API key provided.
  1. Paste the API key into the Zapier pop-up and click "Yes, Continue."
  2. Click the blue "Continue" button and choose the appropriate account from the drop-down menu. Then click "Continue" again.

Step 2:

  1. You will see a "Customize Lead" field asking for a Verification Token code. Keep this field open and switch back to bucket.io to find the unique funnel verification code.

  1. inside bucket.io, if you're inside your funnel, click on "Settings" to access the settings menu.
  2. Select "Integrations" to view the available apps for integration.
  3. Click on the Zapier icon, and a screen with a Verification Token code will open. Copy the code and paste it into the Zapier pop-up

  1. The next step is to test the trigger to confirm connectivity. In the "Find Data" section, click the "Test Trigger" button to bring a sample lead (usually under a dummy name like "fake browser"). Click "Continue" to complete the first step of the Zap.

Second step Zap

  1. From the Choose App & Event search box type FloDesk

  1. Choose the action event “Create/Update Contact” and click the continue button

  1. If FloDesk was previously linked to Zapier you’ll be asked to select an account, if not, you’ll be asked to connect by putting your user name and password or bring an API key from FloDesk

  1. In the *Segment (required) field, choose the segment you have already created for this integration.
  2. In the Email field, click to expand the menu, and choose the email provided by zapier, select  zapier-integration@bucket.io.
Important!
The ability to send data to FloDesk relies on the form displayed below. We can only send the data to pre-established fields, such as the email address, name, last name, and other predefined fields. However, it's essential to be aware that we don't have a specific field for sending the bucket name or outcome name, which plays a crucial role in segmenting audiences. This limitation stems from FloDesk, as they do not currently allow the creation of custom fields.
To work around this limitation, we utilize the "name" field to accommodate the outcome name or bucket name. By doing so, we ensure that both pieces of information—the email address and the bucket or outcome name—are transferred successfully. This workaround ensures that you can still effectively segment your audiences despite the existing limitations.
  1. In the First Name field, select "Outcome name" displayed from the drop-down list, to ensure that your contact arrives with their corresponding tag in FloDesk.

  1. Click Continue
  2. You should  see sample data to test the connection, click “test & review”
  1. Then a sample lead is sent to FloDesk and should look like this

  1. Finally publish your zap and name it at the top-left corner
  2. After this, the integration should be good to go!
