[2.0] Enabling UTM Parameters

This article covers the setup process of UTM parameters, and if you’d like to know more about when and how to use this feature, we recommend the article named UTM Parameters.

IMPORTANT:

UTM parameters transfer at the end of the quiz to any external page can only be accomplished using the External URL component. Therefore, UTM parameters transfer will not work if the external redirect at the end of the quiz is accomplished in a Thank You page, Sales pages, or Webinar pages. For further information about how to use the External URL component, please please look for the article Setting Up External Redirects.

Enable bucket to receive and pass UTM parameters

  1. Go to the funnel settings
  2. Click UTM variables located at the left-hand menu bar
  3. Toggle on the option “Pass UTM Variables”
  4. Save changes at the top-right corner

By activating this option, bucket.io will receive UTM data from any source. As well as the ability to pass along this data to other pages when/if using the external redirect at the end of the quiz.

Send Lead Capture data when redirecting

At times, you might want to use the contact information provided through bucket.io (email, name, phone number) to avoid asking the customer to re-enter those.

For example, say you redirected people to a page to make their payment, you can use the name, email, and phone number provided in bucket.io and automatically populate it on the checkout page so they just need to enter CC numbers, etc.

To enable this option simply:

  1. Go to the funnel settings
  2. Click UTM variables located at the left-hand menu bar
  3. Toggle on “Pass UTM Variables”
  4. Toggle on “Append Lead Capture Data When Redirecting”
  5. Toggle on the Lead Capture page that you wish to use
  6. Save changes at the top-right corner
